Hockey Guidelines at the Craven Rink

While we are excited to offer the Craven Rink to hockey teams, we also recognize that we are not set up great for traditional hockey games (no boards, minimal protection installed in the building, etc.) As such, we ask that any teams using the Craven Rink please adhere to the following protocol:

  • Please use the blue or orange foam pucks provided by the rink and avoid the use of black rubber pucks.
  • Please minimize slap shots and try to refrain from raising or taking particularly hard shots, especially towards the viewing area. As mentioned previously, we don’t have proper protective equipment installed in the Craven Rink so we are asking teams to be considerate of our building so we can continue to use it.
  • Please scrape the ice when you are finished. The ice will not be flooded between every group so we are asking to use some of the energy of the younger generation to help keep it nice for the next group using it.
  • The flooding schedule is set and will not be changed to accommodate the increase in bookings. We cannot add more floods as the ice is already at quite a high level. The price for ice reflects the condition it is in.
  • No teams above U11 will be allowed to practice at the Craven Rink.
  • Hockey teams will pay the full rental rate even if they have one or more members of the Craven Rink on their team. The member rate was put in place for families to utilize the facility and not for hockey rentals.
  • Please arrive dressed in equipment (can tie skates and put on helmets and gloves) and leave dressed. We are not equipped with dressing rooms and with the increase in bookings there is not sufficient time to dress and undress in the foyer. Please make every effort to exit the building 5-7 minutes after your time ends and enter the building 5-7 minutes prior.
  • Ice time must be paid for in advance of booking and all cancellations with less than 7 days notice will be non-refundable.
